Honda Activa Scooters – An Astonishing Icon Of Style And Elegance

It is an awesome scooter to ride, a Honda Activa. There is a 50-60 kmpl range on the activated 125. All shapes and sizes will find the seat very comfortable due to its size and wall padding. There is even a very comfortable pillion seat on the bike. With a half-face helmet at the back and plenty of space for luggage up front, this bike is ideal for carrying luggage. The resale value of Honda engines is high because they are reliable. Why wouldn’t you choose an active one if all these factors are taken into account?

Even though there are better alternatives, why do people buy Honda Activa? Honda Activa, the first gear-less scooty in India, achieved good sales with its CVT technology. Activate was Honda’s first joint venture with the kinetic brand of India, which manufactured gearless scooters.

Honda kept reaping the benefits of that phenomenon. Even though Suzuki Access is more technically advanced in today’s market, one will get more for an old Activa when selling compared to a Suzuki Access.

Gearless scooters, however, failed to gain traction at that time. After learning from this, Honda improved their product, designed an effective marketing campaign, and got active super duper sales. Activa sold well in its early days of launch because of its resale Honda scooty price list value.

In 2000, there was nothing to compete with it in the Indian market. It was a time when TVS and Kinetics were much too underpowered and outdated (2 strokes). Because Activa was ahead of its time, it was a massive success. As a result, Honda became a highly valuable and reliable brand. Discover how Honda has been en-cashing on its brand value for decades.

Honda’s scooters continued to reign supreme until Suzuki introduced Access and opened up the 125cc segment to the competition. Honda’s sales were not immediately affected, but it soon carved out its own niche and gradually started eating into Honda’s market share, to the extent that Honda had to answer with its own 125cc version, which hasn’t been able to dethrone the Honda Activa scooty Access yet.

As 2009 rolled around, the 110cc market was preparing for yet another revolution. Intending to compete with Honda, TVS had developed a 110cc engine of its own. When the TVS Wego was first launched with this engine in 2010, it received high praise from critics and owners alike, but its unisex reluctance and styling to switch from Honda kept it from making the expected sales.

The venom, however, was spreading rapidly. After riding the 110cc Honda and the Wego back-to-back, people were really impressed by the handling and ride quality of the new TVS bike. Slowly and steadily, TVS was encroaching on Honda’s market. There are various filters on Bajaj Mall’s website that allow customers to choose from a variety of bikes/scooters/scooties based on various factors. (It would be great to write about what options customers have for picking a bike.)

Other Honda scooters have used the engine from the Activa. Activa 125, Dio, and Grazia are all powered by rebored Activa engines. There is a separate fanbase for Dio today. Honda has had success with all of its other scooters. It’s all thanks to activating 110’s stellar success.

In addition to its metal body, another factor contributing to its sales is its durability. The perception is that metal bodies are rugged and last a long time. Grazia or Dio scooters are made with fibre parts. The Activa 110’s success can also be attributed to the front wheel (12-inch), start-stop switch, telescopic suspension, and LED headlight, all of which earlier models lacked.

Success factors

Engine refinement:

Activa has always been a pinnacle of refinement, regardless of whether it was in a Bs2, Bs3, or Bs4 avatar. A silent start system and a start-stop mechanism have been added to activate 110 in the BS6 avatar. It is mind-boggling how refined everything is. The Suzuki access 125 is the only scooter in this segment that can match Honda’s impeccable refinement. There are also some very refined bikes, such as the Ntorq and the Yamaha Ray Z. The Honda started it all!

Reliability:

It is a more reliable machine on the market at this price list. Over 40k kilometres had been clocked on my old Activa. The scooter was still quite refined with few long-term issues (rusting and self-start did not work flawlessly). The reliability of this product is quite good. There is currently a Honda Dio that uses the same active engine. With more than 13,000 kilometres on the clock, it’s refined and reliable.

Design:

The Honda Activa retains its neutral aesthetics that appeal to everyone. Despite its age, the design will gain a cult following after a few years.
