Joe then started working as a backstage and post-fight interviewer for the mixed martial arts organisation Ultimate Fighting Championship. Joe Rogan Early Life

On August 11, 1967, Joseph James Rogan was born in Newark, New Jersey. He had one Irish grandparent, while his three other grandparents were all of the Italian descent. When he was five years old, his parents got divorced, and he hasn’t spoken to his father since he was seven.

He said, “All I can recollect of my father are these terrible, fleeting glimpses of domestic abuse. But, I don’t wish to lament my upbringing. I never actually experienced any negative events. I don’t despise the man.” He went to San Francisco, California, with his mother when he was seven years old.

They relocated to Gainesville, Florida, when he was eleven. They eventually made their home in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts, where he attended Newton South High School and graduated in 1985.

Rogan played Little League baseball and became interested in martial arts when he was a young adolescent. He added that as a boy, he was “terrified of being a loser” and that martial arts had given him not only confidence but also a new perspective on who he was and what he was capable of. I was confident that I could do an extremely challenging task that had previously given me the willies. For me, that was very important. The first thing that ever gave me hope that I wasn’t going to be a loser was martial arts.

He won the lightweight division of the US Open Taekwondo Championship when he was 19 years old. He won the full-contact state championship in Massachusetts for four straight years before turning pro in taekwondo.

He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Boston but left before finishing because he thought it was pointless. At the age of 24, he moved away from the Boston area.
