On 28 November 2021, he hinted that he may quit stand-up comedy a day after his scheduled show was canceled in Bengaluru. In December 2021, he was dropped from an upcoming three-day comedy show to be held in Gurugram after the BJP Haryana unit’s IT department head filed a complaint against him. In his complaint, Arun Yadav, the IT department head of the Haryana BJP, accused Mr. Faruqui of insulting the Hindu gods.
